I learn something new everyday
I'm channel surfing and notice some interesting and yummy ingredients on the cooking channel. MMMM... so I pause in my flipping to check it out. I'm not really listening to what is being said though.
Until the chef says this word. Sounds Italian. Must be an Italian cooking show.
Then she speaks again. NOPE - that's English. Definitely American English. So what was that word?
She says it again. It sounds like "SpAHH g" Big Pause "YET" "ti".
HUH? WTF?
She repeats it. It definitely sounds like "SpAHH g" Big Pause "YET" "ti".
Then the camera pans to her hands and I see the package.
Spaghetti. Regular old friggin' Spaghetti.
All my life I've pronounced it "Spa - getti". No pause.
Guess they told me.
