Well, that explains everything.

I've been doing an internet search for my lucky phrase. I wanted to perhaps link to another site or two as justification that I'm not alone in uttering it. Little did I know that I am.

Apparently, for the past TWENTY THREE YEARS, I've been saying the WRONG DAMN WORDS.

The fortuitous phrase is not "Rabid Rabbit" but "RABBIT Rabbit". Easily misunderstood when you're a kid. A Google Search for "Rabbit Rabbit" and "luck" shows results in 3,650 English pages.

Now, here's where it gets interesting. I woke up this morning (obviously, right?). Said "Rabid Rabbit" as I have for the past 23 years (have I mentioned that? I can't stress it enough.) and went about my daily affairs.

Just this afternoon I had a run of bad luck that would not only inconvenience me but also cost me muchos de dinero. A lot of money that I don't have. So I made a few phone calls.

While waiting for some news on the situation, I decided to look up the "rabid rabbit" stuff and that's when I noticed that I've been saying the wrong phrase for (All together now) Twenty-Three Years. (thank you).

As I read, the first thing I said aloud was "Rabbit Rabbit? It's RABBIT Rabbit?"

Just then, the phone rang. It was the call I was expecting. With Good News. While the problem cannot be immediately fixed - a temporary AT NO COST TO ME solution was found.

So the past 23 years were ok, but I can only hope the next 23 will be greatly improved, knock on wood, with my new phrase.

Wish me luck.

I remember my first grade teacher telling me to say "rabbit, rabbit" at the first of the month, but I thought is was my own little secret!

Strange, I had never heard of this habit before. And you actually remember to say it every first day of the month?? That's incredible. I never know what day it is.
