No phone, no lights, no motorcar. Not a single luxury.
1 helicopter ride out over the devastating ruins of my city, 2 wonderful brave young men who gave us the boat ride of our lives, 3 times my parents refused the Coast Guard rescuers and the "possum cop", 4 neighborhood dogs we helplessly watched and heard die, 5 dry days of water rationing and without plumbing, 6 long hot days and even longer, even hotter nights surrounded by flood waters, and on the 7th day I tried to rest. Rest that probably won't come for a long time yet.
But we are with family. We are all safe. We are all alive.
We have nothing but each other and the generosity of others.
I am thankful. Oh so thankful.
Your good thoughts and prayers were needed and are gratefully appreciated. More than you will ever know.

I'm so glad to hear you're ok. I can't even begin to imagine what you've been through--I just want to send a big huge hug your way! You'll be in our prayers--and take care!

I'd never heard of you until I ran across your blog, after the storm hit. I've been praying for you ever since, and I am so happy to hear that you are at least safe. Peace and grace to you.
